Terms of service
Effective September 2026. Threaded by Sal is operated by Davey Designs LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("TBS", "I", "me"). These terms cover threadedbysal.com and any order placed through it. Placing an order or using the site means you agree to them, and to the Privacy Policy posted on this site.
The short version: I make embroidered pieces to order, I stand behind the work, and I ask for the same good faith in return. The details:
1. The pieces. Most of what I sell is made to order on my machines in Colorado. Embroidery is a physical craft: thread can read slightly differently than a screen, and small variations in stitching and placement are part of a handmade piece, not defects. Ready-made items ship as photographed.
2. Custom orders. When you send me an idea or artwork, you confirm you own it or have the right to use it. That includes trademarked logos: if it's your mark, or you're authorized to use it, I can stitch it. If the rights aren't yours, I can't, and I may decline any order on those grounds, or any order I'm not comfortable making. You give me permission to use what you send solely to produce your order. The finished piece is yours; designs, digitized artwork, and stitch files stay with the shop unless we agree otherwise in writing. If I send you a proof, production starts after your approval, and the approved version is what I stitch.
3. Photos of finished work. I sometimes photograph finished pieces for the shop's social media and portfolio. If your order is private, a gift, or a memorial piece, tell me and it stays off camera.
4. Prices and payment. Prices are in US dollars; taxes are calculated at checkout. Payment is handled by Shopify's payment providers, and I never see or store your card number. If a listing carries an obvious pricing error, I may cancel the order and refund you in full.
5. Production and shipping. Each listing states its production time, and I'll tell you if something pushes the timeline. I ship within the United States only. Once your order ships you'll get tracking. If a package is lost or arrives damaged, message me and I'll work with you and the carrier to make it right.
6. Returns. Covered in the Refund Policy: ready-made items within 30 days; custom pieces are final sale, with defects and errors always made right.
7. The site and its content. The designs, photos, and text here belong to TBS. Enjoy them and share them, but don't reproduce the designs for sale. "Threaded by Sal" and the shop's logo and designs are trademarks of TBS; please don't use them without written permission.
8. The legal paragraph. This is the part the law asks to be stated plainly and loudly, so here it is. EXCEPT FOR THE MAKE-IT-RIGHT PROMISE IN THE REFUND POLICY, THE SITE, ITS CONTENT, AND ALL PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS," AND I DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, TBS IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND TBS'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO AN ORDER OR TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE ORDER IN QUESTION. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law does not allow to be limited.
9. Disputes. Colorado law governs these terms. If something goes wrong, message me first; nearly everything is fixable in one conversation. Anything that genuinely can't be resolved belongs to the state or federal courts in Colorado.
10. Orders. Placing an order is an offer to buy; it's accepted when I confirm it and your payment clears. I may decline or cancel an order, including one that raises the issues in section 2, and if I do you get a full refund of anything you've paid.
11. If what you send me causes a problem. If a claim is brought against TBS because content you provided infringed someone's rights, including a logo or design you told me you were authorized to use, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the costs of that claim, including reasonable attorney's fees. Send me only what's yours to send and this section will never matter.
12. Reviews and photos. If you leave a review, share photos of your piece, or tag the shop, I may share that content to run and promote the shop. If you'd rather I didn't, tell me and I won't.
13. TBS and Shopify. This store runs on Shopify, which provides the platform. Your purchase is with TBS alone: Shopify is not responsible for my products or your order, and you agree not to bring claims about them against Shopify or its affiliates.
14. Housekeeping. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms are the whole agreement about the site and your orders; you can't transfer them to anyone else, and if I don't enforce a provision right away I'm not giving it up.
15. Changes and contact. I may update these terms; the version posted here applies to new orders. Questions: hello@threadedbysal.com.
